Lillian Carolyn Smith Harrell, 89, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Tuesday, March 30, 2021, while in Hospice Care.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 1, 2021, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. James Griffin and the Rev. John Gibbs, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until the service hour in the sanctuary of the church.
Mrs. Harrell was born August 14, 1931, in Ben Hill County, Georgia to the late Charlie Columbus & Gladys Griffin Smith. She was a 1949 graduate of Irwinville High School and was a homemaker. Mrs. Harrell was a very active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, and chaired the Benevolent and Senior Ministry Committees. She took pride in sewing and made dresses for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, sharing recipes, and was well known for her Turkey Dressing each Thanksgiving and Christmas. She also loved to cheer on the Georgia Bulldogs each football season.
She is survived by her two daughters, Lynn Harrell Hall & John O. of Ocilla and Deborah Harrell of Ocilla; grandchildren, Heather Ould & Ivan Ulloa (Woodstock, GA), Shannon Leigh Ould (Huntington Beach, CA), Christy & Sean Pruitt (Novi, MI), Wink & Tisa Taylor (Cordele, GA), Lauren Manley (Brunswick, GA), Zack & Jennifer Hall (Elmhurst, IL); a host of great grandchildren; a sister, Frances Clements of Cordele; honorary grandchildren Tonya Troup Sumner and Amanda Wilkes; and her sweet dog Honey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Jack Harrell.
