Michael A. Rocha, 59, of New Bedford passed away suddenly on Monday March 29, 2021. He was the husband of Kim P. (Connor) Rocha.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Cynthia (Barros) Rocha-DeBarros and the late Charles Rocha, Jr., he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Michael was employed as a shuttle bus driver for UMass Dartmouth and Bill’s Taxi Company. He had previously worked for Titleist and Home for Little Wanderers.
At home, Michael could always be found on his computer. He took great joy in attending his sons' softball games and watching his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, during football season with his sons and family members. Michael always enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren and extended family.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by three children, Michael Rocha, Jr. and his companion Jackeline Torres Lopez, Jarrid Rocha, and Kaylin Rocha; four sisters, Belinda Rocha, Kim Rocha, Michelle Rocha and her companion Edwin Martin, and Maureen Barboza and her husband Troy; nine grandchildren, Derin, Olivia, Narayah, Jayce, Larayah, Brooke’lynn, Layla, Ylianette and Ezekiel; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday April 6th at 9 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Visiting hours will be on Monday April 5th from 4-7 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. For online condolence book, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
