Obituary

COCHITUATE: Mary Ann (D’Innocenzo) Blais, 90, died peacefully and comfortably under the care and devotion of her family at her daughter’s residence in Upton on Saturday evening March 27, 2021 following a brief period of declining health.
Mary was born in Newton on June 14, 1930, Flag Day, the daughter of the late Ernesto D’Innocenzo and Paolina (Cantalini) D’Innocenzo.
She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Norman Blais who died on February 19, 1986.
Mary was the devoted and loving mother of John R. “Jack” Blais and his wife Patricia of Holliston; Carol B. Wilde and her husband Jeffrey of Upton and Thomas J. Blais and his wife Ali of Margate, FL. Cherished Nana of Danielle McGuiness and her husband Brian; Richie Blais; Jayme Wilde; Gabriel Blais; Elijah Blais; Daniel Blais and his wife Sarah and Isaiah Blais. Nonni to her great-grandchildren Quinn and Tessa McGuiness and Gabriella Blais. Sister of Dorothy Corsi of Ashland and the late Ernest D’Innocenzo; Mario D’innocenzo; George D’Innocenzo; Paul D’Innocenzo; Dominic D’Innocenzo; Gina DeClemente; Josephine DeMaio; Eleanor Burns; Virginia Porter and Theresa Roberts. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Mary spent her formative years in Newton and has resided in the Cochituate section of Wayland for the past 60 years. She graduated from Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart.
She was a longtime communicant and active parishioner of Saint Zepherin Church in Cochituate. Mary was a devoted and loving wife, mother, Nana, Nonni and Auntie Mary to her family. She loved all of the gatherings she hosted over the years at her home. She and her family and friends created many happy memories around the backyard pool and visits to Maine.
Mary will always hold a special place in the hearts of her family and in the neighborhood where she raised her family.
Walk through visitations will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rt 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 12:30 pm at the Blais family lot in Lakeview Cemetery, Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Her family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers that you remember Mary with a gift to Kindred Hospice, 130 Rumford Avenue, Suite 211, Auburndale, MA 02466 for the wonderful care that she received towards the end of her life’s journey.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, masks are mandatory and social distancing must be observed at the funeral home and cemetery.
