HELEN (WAITE) WETZEL
Helen (Waite) Wetzel, 97, of Danville, PA died on Friday, March 26, 2021 in Danville, PA.
The daughter of the late Lloyd and Annie (Ford) Waite, she was born on March 3, 1924 in Danville, PA.
After graduating from Danville High School, Helen worked as a welder in a shipyard during the latter part of WWII and later worked at Geisinger Hospital until her retirement.
She married Harold O. (Hud) Wetzel on January 5, 1984 at the Trinity United Methodist Church of Danville, where she was a member. Helen and Hud made their home in New Castle, PA.
Helen is survived by her three stepdaughters: Sue (Wayne) Glenn of Concord, NC; Deborah (Phillip R.) Dale of Punxsutawney, PA and Denise (Don) Johnson of Indiana, PA; her seven grandchildren; her twelve great-grandchildren and her two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her five sisters and one brother; her first husband: George Gearhart and her second husband: Harold O. (Hud) Wetzel; and her stepson: Harold O. Wetzel, II. She was the last surviving member of her family.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brady Funeral Home, Danville, PA. At her request there will be no visitation.
There will be graveside rites under the direction of the Rairigh Funeral Ltd. of Hillsdale, PA at the Burnside Cemetery in Burnside, PA on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
