Obituary

CHICOPEE – Darlene I. (Orioli) Desrosiers, 69, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, March 28, 2021 after a courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on October 25, 1951, a beloved daughter of the late Emilio L. and Jeannette Z. (Jubinville) Orioli. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School in 1969 and received her Certified Nurses Aide Certificate. She was employed as a Home Health Aide for Chicopee Visiting Nurse and Hospice, Porchlight and The Arbors in Chicopee. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee where she was a member of the Family Life Commission, Coffee and Donuts Hour and the Evangelization Committee. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She leaves her beloved husband and soul mate, Robert R. Desrosiers, Sr. They were married on May 31, 1971 at Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 49 years of happiness together. She also leaves her loving son, Robert R. “Robby” Desrosiers Jr. of Chicopee; her loving daughter, Nicole E. Desrosiers and her partner, Tracey Holden, of Chicopee; her dear sister, Nancy Holmes of Chicopee; her dear brother-in-law, Donald Desrosiers and his wife, MaryBeth, of Myrtle Beach, SC; her two dear sisters-in-law, Constance Bouffard of Las Vegas, NV and Diane Kelly of Enfield, CT; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends including her best friends, Rita and Jim O’Dell of Chicopee and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her three dear brothers-in-law, David Desrosiers, Fred Bouffard, and John Kelly. Her family will receive friends on Monday, April 5, 2021 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (please note that masks are required, social distancing must be observed and the funeral home capacity is limited due to state regulations).
