Obituary

Myrtice Tucker Daniel, 98, went to be with the Lord on March 27, 2021, at her home with the family by her side.

She was born October 10, 1922 to the late Reason and Grovie B. Tucker. She was married to the love of her life, the late Lawton Daniel on June 15, 1940.

Mrs. Daniel was a Godly Christian woman who spent a lifetime of devotion and love to God, her family, friends, and church family. She was a very generous and giving lady; wherever there was a need, she was there to help.

She was a member of Union Primitive Baptist Church since the 1940’s. She served the church in many ways. She served as church treasurer for many years, and made communion bread until she was no longer able. She and her late husband found great joy in hosting visiting preachers during “Big Meeting.” She was an avid reader. She read the bible in its entirety thirteen times. She also enjoyed poetry.

She had a great passion for cooking and baking. She took delight in sharing her delicious cookies with family, friends, and the community. She enjoyed gardening and kept her yard filled with beautiful flowers.

She is survived by her three children: Alicia Cockman, Helen (Jim) Carlisle, and Ron Daniel; her grandchildren, Paige (John) Crawford, Kristin (Trey) Davis, and Allison Cockman; and her great-grandson, Brett Cockman and her great-granddaughter Kaelan Davis.

Due to the COVID pandemic, a graveside service will be held Tuesday at 4PM March 30, 2021, at Union Primitive Baptist Church. Masks and social distancing are required.
