Nancy Ann Hurd, 85, of Walpole , died March 25 after a brief illness at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Needham while listening to her favorite Elvis songs.
Born in Norwood, September 17,1935, the daughter of the late Everett and Marion (Reardon) Hurd, Miss Hurd was a lifelong Walpole resident.
A graduate of Walpole High School , Nancy had been an office manager at Bird& Son’s in East Walpole for many years. She was also a longtime volunteer at the Walpole election polls.
She loved following all the Boston sports teams and enjoyed talking scores ad highlights with the kids. She enjoyed going to Bingo at St. Catherine’s in Norwood, the Connecticut casinos, and the Walpole Senior Center events and bus trips. Nancy made a friend everywhere she went.
Nancy loved an outing whether it be with her friends, cousins, or aunts. Some of her happiest days were spending special moments with Robin, Susan, Tina and Lori. She cherished the time spent with her Goddaughter Susan most of all.
She was the sister of the late Richard Hurd.
She is survived by her sister- in -law Marcia Hurd of Franklin and was the sister -in-law of the late Alberta Hurd.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 31 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street Franklin at Noon.
Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, South Walpole.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:00-Noon.
