Gene Raburn Bryant, 75, of Ocilla passed away Friday, March 26, 2021, at Irwin County Hospital. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Jay Roberson officiating. A private burial will be held for Mr. Bryant at a later date. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 28, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. COVID-19 guidelines will be followed during the visitation and the funeral service.
Born June 6, 1945 in Ashburn, Mr. Bryant was the son of the late James Orr Bryant and Piney Hogan Bryant. He was also preceded in death by three brothers. Before retiring, he worked as an electrician and he was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Mr. Bryant is survived by his wife, Karen M. Bunns Bryant of Ocilla; three sons, Johnny Bryant of Tifton, Jermaine Croft of Florida and Brandon Croft of Alabama; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Donna Bryant and Teresa Bryant, both of Tifton, Lisa and James Hall of Ocilla and Melanie and Tony Samuels of Chattanooga, Tennessee; one brother and sister-in-law, Billie Joe and Hortense Bryant of Florida; one sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Albert Key of Newnan; a sister-in-law, Quincy Bryant of Ocilla; 24 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
