T. Vance Ross, 82, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, March 25, 2021, at Legacy Village in Tifton, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 4 PM, Sunday, March 28, 2021, at Bethlehem Cemetery, in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. Larry Dean officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 PM until 4 PM in the sanctuary of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Irwin County.
Mr. Ross was born July 27, 1938, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Walter Eugene & Ethel Tucker Ross. He lived in the community all of his life and began his career with W.E. Ross & Sons. He was self-employed in the construction business. Mr. Ross was an avid hunter and equestrian. He was a life member of the American Hackney Horse Society. He loved his horses and bird dogs, especially his bird dog, Atlas. Mr. Ross was a member of Morningside Baptist Church in Ashburn, Georgia.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Ross of Fitzgerald; children: Kimberly Ross & Jeffrey Wurst of Birmingham, Alabama and Kristi Green & Eric of Warner Robins; two step-children: Donnie Gilder & Melissa of Tifton and Michelle Gilder of Tifton; grandchildren: Candler Campbell, Mimi Jewell Campbell, Abigail Wurst, Millicent Wurst, Ein Carr, Bryce Gilder, Dylan Gilder, Maggie Gilder and Rylee Gilder; a brother: Kenneth Ross of Ocilla and a sister, Willann Brunson of Albany. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Sidney Ross.
