New Bedford – Lorraine DeMello, age 85, of New Bedford passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Care One of New Bedford. She was the beloved wife of the late George F. DeMello.
Born in Fairhaven, MA she was the daughter of the late Oliver Hatch and Gertrude (Perry) Hatch. Lorraine had been employed as a packer for Frionor Fisheries for many years.
Lorraine is survived by her sons, Wayne DeMello and his wife Christine and Barry DeMello and his wife Tammy; grandchildren, Cameron, Connor, Melissa and Jessica and step-son, Robert DeMello. She was predeceased by her siblings, the late Delores, Helen, Loretta and Carol.
Lorraine’s visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Her funeral will take place Monday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Julie Billiart Church at 11:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
All attendees are required by current mandated restrictions to wear a face covering at all times, to social distance 6 feet and to please refrain from any close physical contact. Attendance in the funeral home may be limited in order to meet the mandated capacity restrictions and could result with a wait time outside of the funeral home.
