Obituary

HAYDENVILLE – Aimée I. DesRochers, 39, of Haydenville and a longtime resident of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, March 22, 2021. She passed into Eternal Life at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on September 26, 1981, the beloved daughter of Donna M. (DesRochers) Papageorge. She was raised in Aldenville, graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School in 1999 and had moved to Haydenville a short time ago. She served her country in the United States Air Force during the Persian Gulf War and attained the rank of Senior Airman. She was employed as a Products Specialist for Amazon and worked from their Windsor Locks, CT location. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville. During her leisure time, she loved playing the guitar, spending time with her family and looking forward to her favorite time of the year which was Halloween. She leaves her beloved mother and step-father, Donna M. (DesRochers) Papageorge and Kevin A. Papageorge of Haydenville; her loving brother, Alan J. Papageorge-DesRochers of Westfield; her five dear aunts, Diana Eldredge and her husband, Tom, of Chatham, Doreen Guyette of Chicopee, Debra Peabody who is also her godmother, and her husband, Richard, of Springfield and Cecilia DesRochers of Ludlow, and Claire DesRochers, of Chicopee; her dear uncle, Arnold R. “Butch” Craven of Chicopee; her godfather, Rolland “Chick” Guyette of Chicopee; her dear cousins, David, Mary, Marc, Matthew (Stephanie), Carrie, Cory (Shayla), Samantha, Jason Jr., Madison and her godson Zachary; and her many dear extended family members and numerous friends. She will also be missed by her beloved canine companion, Rocky. She was predeceased by her beloved grandparents, Conrad L. and Doris L. (Cote) DesRochers; her two dear uncles, Conrad L. DesRochers, Jr. and Ernest W. DesRochers; and her dear aunt, Norma C. Craven. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8 a.m.). The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Committal Service with United States Air Force Military Honors will be private at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Please note that masks are required, social distancing must be observed and funeral home and cemetery capacity are limited due to state regulations.
