Obituary


Alan K. McDougall, a lifelong Medford resident passed away unexpectedly while working, Friday, March 19, 2021. He was 52. Born in Woburn, Alan is the beloved son of the late Lorne J. and Dorothy A. (Tuschner) McDougall.

He is the cherished brother of Philip McDougall and his wife Karen of Oakham, Cathy McDougall and her partner Tammy Doucette of North Reading, Lonny MacDougall and his wife Jeanette of Arcadia, CA, the late P. Scott McDougall and his surviving wife Sheila of Wilmington. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Alan was raised and educated in Medford. As a young boy he was always active in youth sports. He was a 1986 graduate of Medford High School where he excelled on the football field as a member and Captain of the Mustang Football Team helping to lead them to their last Greater Boston League Championship. Following high school, Alan began his career with Verizon working as a line splicer for the past thirty-five years. He was an avid Boston Sports fan and in his leisure time he enjoyed golfing with friends. He was a member of Medford's American Legion Post 45, where he loved to frequent and hang out with some of his closest friends. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many dear friends.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours Sunday, March 28th, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home 306 Main St., Medford. All attending must wear a face mask and adhere to social distancing protocols. Interment services will be private. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions in Alan's memory may be made to the Jimmy Fund c/o Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
