Darryl Troy Vaughn, 60, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, March 22, 2021, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 4 PM, Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Kevin Vander Horn and the Rev. Randy McDuffie officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Vaughn was born April 2, 1960, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to Troy M. Vaughn, Jr. and Mary Joyce Howell Vaughn. He was a 1978 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. As a young man, he enjoyed playing football and baseball and riding his bicycle. He was very fond of his 1974 Red Nova and enjoyed riding many miles around town and down to Alligator Point in Florida. He made Thomasville his home for the past 26 years.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce Howell Vaughn of Fitzgerald; father, Troy M. Vaughn, Jr. & Dot of Fitzgerald; sisters: Carolyn Rutherford and Hoke, Jr. of Omega and Mary Linda Walker & David of Fitzgerald; nieces and nephews: Keri Vander Horn & Kevin, Chip Rutherford & Brandy, Chris Walker, Whitley Crossin & Michael, and Jacob Walker & Chelsea; and great-nieces and nephews: Karoline Vander Horn, Kevin Vander Horn, II, Kosten Vander Horn, Blaise Rutherford, Blaire Rutherford, Nathan Walker, Ledger Crossin, and Mitch Crossin. He was preceded in death by an infant sister.
