Obituary

Albert Vincent DeStefano, 94, a longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away Monday, March 15, 2021, at his Tewksbury home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband to Rose (Pasquariello) DeStefano, with whom he celebrated 71 years of marriage this past September.

A son of the late Albert DeStefano and the late Maria (Cerullo) DeStefano, he was born on June 26, 1926 in Boston. He was raised in Boston’s Orient Heights neighborhood and was a graduate of English High School. After graduating, he joined the Navy and was stationed in the Philippines for 18 months and was honorably discharged after 2 years of service to his country.

Following his service, he returned to Massachusetts and began working as a baker, owning his own donut shop and later owning and operating Roseann Pastry in Hyde Park for a number of years. It was during this time that he attained a Master’s Degree in education from Fitchburg State University.

Combining his education and talents as a baker he then began working at Greater Lawrence Technical High School, teaching culinary arts and eventually as an administrator, retiring in 1995 after over 30 years as an educator and administrator.

Mr. DeStefano was a longtime communicant of St. Williams Church in Tewksbury. He also enjoyed traveling, visiting all of Europe with his wife, Rose. He was truly an artist with pastry and also had a green thumb for gardening. His beloved Rose, his 3 daughters, his grandchildren and great grandchildren are his legacy and his time spent with them was the best time in his life.

Besides his wife, Rose, he is also survived by his 3 triplet daughters; Karla A. St. Peter and her husband, Loren, of Ashburnham, Stephanie D. Turner and her husband, Jonathan, of Tewksbury and Karol R.T. DeStefano of Townsend, and Robert Turner of Tewksbury, his grandchildren; Jaemi Carkin and her husband, Darren, of Ashburn, VA, Matthew Stefanilo and his wife, Colby, of Ashburnham, Adam Sawyer of Ashburnham, Christopher Stefanilo and his wife, Heather, of Townsend, Katelyn Braun and her husband, John, of Townsend and Jake (James Michael) Turner and his wife, Katie, of Providence, RI, his great grandchildren; Hannah, Maddyson, Christopher, Nicholas, Callie, Sawyer, Olive and Elliott.

His funeral services were held privately from the TEWKSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 1 DEWEY STREET, TEWKSBURY, MA 01876.
