Alzira DaSilva (Medeiros) Leal, age 91, of Medford passed away on Sunday, March 21st. Born and raised in Horta, Faial, The Azores, she was the daughter of the late Jaime and Lucinda (Lemos) Medeiros. Alzira will be remembered for the loving care she took of her garden, and for her sweet-tooth, especially when it came to chocolate.
Alzira was the beloved wife of the late Jaime Leal, and the devoted mother of Jaime Leal Jr. and his wife Edith, Jose Leal, and Alzira Brandon, all of Medford, her son-in-law Lawrence Brandon, and her daughter Christina Corga and her husband Albert of Assonet. She was the loving grandmother of James Leal and his wife Katie, Kyle Corga and Sabrina Corga. Alzira was the dear sister of Jaime Medeiros and his wife Beatrice, and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, on Wednesday, March 24th at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with her family in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford from 8:30 through 9:30 AM prior to the funeral mass. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Social distancing protocols will be observed throughout the services.
