Jennie (Wienzek) Swiszcz, 93, of Quincy, formerly of New Bedford, died Wednesday March 22, 2006 at Carney Hospital in Dorchester after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Paul Swiszcz.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Frank and Frances (Szewczy) Wienzek, she lived in New Bedford for many years before moving to Quincy in 1990.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
Mrs. Swiszcz was formerly employed by several local textile mills for many years until her retirement.
Survivors include a daughter, Frances C. Ward and her husband Pat of Quincy; two grandsons, Jeffrey P. Ward of Exeter, N.H. and Douglas F. Ward of Fitchburg; three great-grandchildren, Emma Ward, Rowan Ward, and Gavin Ward; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Walter Wienzek, Statia Jablonski, Bridget Wienzek, Anna Polek, and Nora Wajda.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, Monday March 27, 2006 at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Sunday, March 26, 2006 from 4-7 PM.
Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery.
