Obituary

With sorrow and joy, praying for God’s blessing and grace for Bettie Marie Hendrickson’s soul, we share with you her passing from this earthly plain to God’s spiritual realm. She died on March 19, 2021 in Nashville, TN.

Bettie was born in Ashland, Maryland on March 12, 1928 to Ida Mae Sheeler (Tracey) and Walter Sheeler. She had four siblings: Elsie Ambrose (Sheeler), Virginia Ruff (Sheeler), Donald Scheeler and Stanley Scheeler. All her siblings pre-deceased her.

Bettie was married to Artennis C. Hendrickson for 57 years in Baltimore, Maryland. She is survived by her only son, Charles Hendrickson and his wife Linda Hauer Hendrickson; grandchildren, Deborah L. Hendrickson, Lisa M. Sexton (nee Hendrickson) and her husband Walter Sexton; great-grandchildren, Zeeva M. Sexton, Amari X. Sexton, Dezha Sexton, Cheridan Sexton and several nieces and nephews.

Bettie graduated from Clara Barton High School with a secretarial education. She worked several jobs through her life, retiring after fifteen years of secretarial work at Arcade Floors.

Bettie was a member of the Cederetts of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon #45 in Parkville, Maryland and a member of Arnolia Untied Methodist Church for over 60 years.

Please join us in celebration of her life at The Johnson-Fosbrink Funeral Home P.A., 8521 Loch Raven Blvd. (beltway exit 29B) on Thursday, March 25th from 4 to 8p.m. (there will be a limit of 30 people in the building, social distancing and masks are required). A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, March 26th at 11:00a.m. at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
