
John Morrison Peirce, 85, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 19, 2021, at Tifton Health & Rehabilitation in Tifton, Georgia.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 8 A.M., Sunday, March 28, 2021, at Sandy Ridge Cemetery in the Bowens Mill Community, Ben Hill County.
Mr. Peirce was born August 25, 1935, in Peterborough, New Hampshire, to the late Beland Haskins & Ruth Ann Graves Peirce. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. He attended the Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, now known as Carnegie Mellon University, where he was a member of the SAE Fraternity. He worked as an actor and later as a master carpenter and painter. He lived in Copper Center, Alaska and Citra, Florida. He was a member of Bowens Mill Christian Center.
He is survived by his children: Scott Jonathan & Dr. Lynne Meffen of Gainesville, Florida, Martha Sue & John King of Newnan, Georgia, and Alison Lee & Barry Robeson of Gingin, Western Australia; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a brother, David Karl & Lori Peirce of Randolph, Vermont; a nephew, Kevin & Alicia O’Peirce; a niece, Kory & Joseph Hirak and their two children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Searles Peirce; a daughter, Faith Elise Vega; and a granddaughter, Elise Vega.
