Obituary

Marion E. (McCarthy) McLaughlin, a longtime resident of Charlestown and formerly of Malden, entered into eternal life on Friday, March 19, 2021 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was 93 years of age.

Marion was born in Malden on January 12, 1928, a daughter of the late Charles McCarthy and Eleanor (Evers) McCarthy. She grew up in Malden and graduated from Girls Catholic High School in Malden. Marion worked for 11 years in the insurance claims department for Teamsters Local #25 Health Services. She enjoyed reading and crocheting. During the warmer months, you could often find Marion spending her summers at the Beachmont section of Revere. Marion's greatest love in this world was her beloved family, who she cherished above all else.

Marion is the beloved wife of the late Thomas E. "Toddy" McLaughlin. She is the devoted mother of Joanne Sullivan and her husband Daniel, Janet McLaughlin and her husband Thomas Petrocelli, Thomas McLaughlin and his wife Michelle, Brian McLaughlin, and Gerard McLaughlin and his wife Suzanne. She is the loving Nana of Meghann and her husband John, Erin, Jonathan and his wife Carla, TJ, Sean and his fiancé Lauren, Kyle, Kelly, and her great-grandchildren Drew, Tori, Lennon, and Penelope. She is the beloved sister of Robert McCarthy, and the late Charles and Henry McCarthy. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A private Funeral Mass for all of Marion's immediate and extended family will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. Her burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden will also be private.
