CHICOPEE – Paul R. Patenaude, Sr., 81, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. He passed into Eternal Life at Holyoke Medical Center surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on February 7, 1940, a beloved son of the late Wilfred and Simonne J. (Forcier) Patenaude. He was raised in Aldenville, graduated from Precious Blood High School in Holyoke and was a lifelong resident of Aldenville. He was employed for many years at Hart Wool & Combing, Inc. in Holyoke and retired as the Personnel Manager. He was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville, a member of the Italian-American Citizen’s Club in Springfield, and a 30 year member of the American Legion Post 275 in Chicopee. During his leisure time, he enjoyed camping, watching football games, NASCAR races and gardening. He was known in his neighborhood for the beautiful flowers in his yard. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his two loving children, Paul R. Patenaude, Jr. of Chicopee and Pamela Toppi and her husband, Dean, of Rowley; his two cherished grandchildren, Allyson and Matthew Toppi; his dear brother, Donald L. Patenaude of Venice, FL; his dear sister, Pauline Coderre of Loris, SC; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his dear brother-in-law, Roger Coderre. His Funeral Services and Burial will be private. There are no visiting hours.
