Obituary

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that the family of Arthur Raymond Girard announces his passing. He passed away peacefully on Monday March 15, 2021 surrounded by his family members.
Arthur started his life in North Grovendale CT. He attended Assumption Preparatory School, while helping his parents and family in the Food and Automotive business as a young man. He attended the University of Connecticut studying Microbiology. Arthur had many challenges in his young life and took them on head on. He married his first wife Yvonne and started his family at a young age, and after the passing of his father at an early age, he took over the family tradition of feeding the community.

Arthur entered the culinary business in 1965. He built his on Restaurant, Eaton Farms, and one brick at a time in Mansfield/Storrs CT. He developed his culinary skills by watching his family over the years, reading culinary books, and trial and error. His love for cooking showed in the quality and presentation of his creations. He left the culinary business after 20 years and entered the Sales and Marketing industry. He excelled in his new career challenges and worked his way to Vice President of Marketing and Sales for one of the largest telephony companies in the US. Throughout his life he always refined his culinary skills and always showed his love to his family and friends through his creations shared at the dinner table. Along with this, he showed his grandchildren the importance of the art of cooking and how to show love through your passion. Once he was close to retirement, he volunteered at a local Shelter to give young folks a chance to develop their own culinary skills as a way out of the struggles they were experiencing.

Arthur will be missed by his entire family. He is survived by his of wife Margaret Girard of 38 Years and his first wife Yvonne D Girard, his children, daughter Lisa Joan Girard and her husband Paul Bupivi; son Lee James Girard, and his wife Kimberly Parker-Girard; his daughter Laura Davis and fiancée David Lynch; and daughter in law Kim MacDonald. Arthur is predeceased by his son’s Lloyd Raymond and Douglas MacDonald.

He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Jessica Lynn Girard, Andrew John Bouley, Chelsea Cannon, Alex Davis, Jack MacDonald, Sam Davis, Spencer James Girard, and Kiley Michaela Girard, as well as 5 great-grandchildren (Daniel, Madison, Emily, Levi, Julien) Arthur is also survived by his faithful companion and best friend Hank, who helped him get through the days.

A celebration of life will be held with Friends and Family at the Notre Dame Cemetery, in Pawtucket R.I. At the family burial site, on Saturday April 24 at 11:00 am. Please wear something colorful to help us celebrate Arthur’s life.
