Frank M. Gracia, Jr., age 63, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was the beloved husband of Janet K. (Altimar) Gracia, to whom he was wed for thirty-six years.
Born in Brockton, MA on January 27, 1958, he was a loving son of the late Frank M., Sr. and Mary Patricia (Griffith) Gracia.
Frank grew up in Bridgewater and as a graduate of Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School. For four years, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army and was honorably discharged with the rank of SP4.
A resident of Mansfield for the past thirty-three years, Mr. Gracia had previously been employed as a Systems Analyst for Filene’s.
Frank’s family was the essence of his life and even through his years of challenges, he was always there for them. While his sons were growing up, he remained a big part of their lives; coaching Mansfield Youth Baseball and Basketball, as well as in Robotics First Lego League Competition for Mansfield High School. Frank was an avid lifelong sports fan and will always be remembered as the guy who rooted for the underdog.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his devoted sons: Dan Gracia of Groton, CT and his longtime companion Ashley and Joey Gracia and his longtime companion Julia of Mansfield. He was the dear brother of Donna Kulpa, Anne Marie Truelson, Rosemary McRae, Patrick Gracia, Mary Ellen Mulkern, Timothy Gracia, Glenys Berkowitz, Cindy Russo, Margaret Gracia, Kim Myers and the late Noreen Kirkwood. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Military services will be held on Saturday, May 22nd at 1:00 P.M. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, followed by a celebration of Frank’s life at the family home in Mansfield, to which family and friends are invited.
Visiting hours are omitted and those wishing may remember Frank, which would be important to him, as well as his family, by making a contribution in his memory to Mansfield High School,250 East St., Mansfield, MA 02048.
