Obituary

Mary “Mazie” Frances (Turner) Rose, 95 passed away after a long battle with Dementia, surrounded by her children on Monday March 15th. She outlived her adoring husband of 42 years, George W. Rose with whom she had 9 children. Later in life she was married to the late Dieter Hubert.

Mary grew up in Haverhill, MA and was the last 7th child of the late Charles W. Turner
and Clarice (Phaneuf) Turner and sibling of deceased Bernice Turner Gendron, Charles
Turner, Raymond Turner, Dorothy Turner LeBlanc, Robert Turner, and Joseph Turner.
She was also predeceased by three of her children, George W. Rose, Jr., Marilyn B.
Rose, Kenneth R. Rose, and her grandson, Kenneth G. Rose.

Mary, was the loving and devoted mother of Maureen Rose of Derry, NH, Sharon
Thornton and her husband Walter of Holliston, MA, Carol Rose-Camelio and her
husband Alexander of Lexington, MA, Donna Geary and her husband, Robert of
Medford, MA, Charles Rose and his wife Nancy of Billerica, MA, Judy DiRusso of
Tewksbury, MA, and Daughter-in-Law Paula Waite of Waltham, MA. She is also
survived by many loving, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A faithful and proud Catholic, she was a Communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in
Medford where she was a longtime resident. She was also a Eucharistic Minister in Ft.
Myers, FL and Pinehurst, NC, where she had also made homes.

She worked for CIGNA and the US. Attorney’s Office of Ft. Myers, FL, until her
retirement. With her Church group in North Carolina, she made Rosary Beads
by hand and sent them overseas for the troops. Mazie also took pride in hobbies of
painting, dancing, reading, and music. She was an accomplished stenographer and
pianist. As a young girl, she was one of the first to play the piano during Silent Movies in
the local Movie Theater.

She traveled to many countries but her favorite memory was a trip to Ireland and
Kissing the Blarney Stone.

Titles of Mazie, Aunt Mazie, Gramma, Great Gramma, GG, were loved, but, Mom,
Mama, and MAaaa were her favorite names to answer to. We will all miss her dearly
and are happy that she is at peace with her heavenly family. Until we meet again, her
Spirit will forever live on in each of us.
