Irene M. (Ferullo) Bruno, of Medford passed away on Monday, March 15th. She was 89. Born in Boston and raised in Somerville, she was the cherished daughter of the late Josephine Ferullo. Irene spent many years working as an administrator at the Bank of New England until her retirement.
Irene enjoyed taking trips up to the White Mountains in New Hampshire and she always made sure to stop at the Hart’s Turkey Farm to grab a bite to eat. She was a collector of bear figurines and dolls; she never had enough. Irene loved to watch the QVC network often purchasing anything that caught her eye. She always looked forward to taking mini vacations with her girlfriends. Her favorite pastime was cuddling and playing with her cat’s JJ and Toby.
Irene was the beloved wife of the late Jerome G. Brune. She was the devoted mother of Cindie Rais-Asaro and her husband Bill, and Jerry Brune and his wife Laura. She was the loving Grandma of 10 and Great Grandma of 5.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Irene’s family on Thursday, March 18th from 10 to 11 AM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, followed by a funeral service which will be conducted in the funeral home at 11 AM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden. Social distancing protocols will be in place during all services.
