Obituary

Jacqueline L. (Archibald) Billings, age 91, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2021. A lifelong resident of Weymouth, Jackie was adored by many for her effervescent personality, endearing generosity, and deep appreciation of others. She had a smile, hug, and an arm squeeze ready for anyone she encountered.

After graduating from Weymouth High School, Jackie went to work in Boston at the Commercial Union Insurance Company for over 40 years. She married her beloved late husband Warren L. Billings and her love for him was unwavering. As the eldest sibling of seven, Jackie was an incredibly loving sister to the late William, Frank, David, Richard, Donald Archibald, and Lois Ambach. Jackie was also famously known as “Auntie” to multiple generations of nieces and nephews that meant the world to her and to be loved by Auntie was to feel uniquely special and deeply appreciated.

Well known for her baking, her friends and family will miss her famous Scotcheroos--the peanut butter and chocolate krispies that we grew up loving and always looked forward to receiving. Jackie was also a devoted member of The First Church in Weymouth where she was a deaconess for many years and where she made many lifelong friends. In her free time, Jackie was an avid bell collector and a proud member of the New England Chapter of the American Bell Association. Alongside her beloved Warren, she spent many years involved with the Antique Auto Club. Jackie also was a devoted animal lover and took great care of her two dachshunds, Lucky and Axel, and her bird, BeeBop. And of course, she will be remembered for her sincere dedication to handwritten notes and thank you cards. A loving family member and friend to many, we will miss her smile and the abundance of joy she brought to our lives.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the C.C Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA, on Friday, March 19, 2021, from 9:00-10:30 AM.
