John G. Picard, age 68, was called safely home on March 9, 2021. He was born on June 23, 1952 in Holyoke, a son of the late Armand and Doretta (Larocque) Picard. John worked as a machinist for many years. John had a personality big enough to light up a room, he was selfless and had a heart of gold. He is survived by 3 sons, Corey Picard of Springfield, Joshua Picard of Springfield and William Lawrenchuck of Springfield; 2 daughters, Jessie Picard and Amanda Picard of Springfield; 2 brothers, Frank Picard of Huntington and Joseph Picard of Westfield; 1 sister, JoAnn Murphy of Westfield; 15 grandchildren, Kyle, Amy, Selana, Austin, Justina, Jason, Savion, Skyler, Beyzha, Jennesy, Jazlynn, Jeremiah, Abel, Josiah, and Journey as well as 2 great grandchildren, Aizen, and Kai. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 19, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A repass to celebrate John’s life will follow. Memorial contributions and floral arrangements are welcome. Burial will be private at a later date.
