Donald Marc-Andre Parent, 67, of Middleburg, Florida, formerly of North Smithfield died peacefully on Wednesday March 3, 2021 at Pruitt Health Fleming Island Center in Jacksonville, FL after a long illness.
Donald was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island on April 9, 1953 a son of Cora (Desrosiers, Parent) Poulin of Lincoln and the late Maurice A. Parent.
Raised in the home his father built on Parent Court in Lincoln he attended Mount St. Charles Academy.
Donald was a devoted father who took great pride in everything he did, and spent his days working to have, make, or do something better than the day before. He worked diligently on his home, property, cars, and devoted time to his hobbies. He worked with cars his entire life, both working on his own cars at home, and in his career. He was employed by MetLife Insurance for many years as in insurance adjuster. Before that, he worked in auto body repair.
Donald was a longtime member of the New England Trial Riders Association, a dirt bike club. Riding his dirt bike with his son was of their favorite activities. Don also loved music. He was a musician who played rhythm and bass guitar in local bands and frequented the local music scene in Rhode Island.
Donald was the loving husband of the late Denise T. (Malouin) Parent who passed away in 2006. He is survived by his mother Cora Parent, his companion Janis Iovino, his son Daniel Parent and his wife Melissa of Harrisville and his daughter Nicole Parent and her husband Scott Johnson of Alexandria, VA. He was the proud grandfather of Sydney, Nathaniel and Jamie. He was the brother of Carol Berube, Diane Parent, Andre Parent and the late Leandre Parent. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews and their families.
Donald's family wishes to offer their deepest gratitude to the staff of St. Vincent’s Hospital, The Mayo Clinic, and Pruitt Health Center in Jacksonville, FL for all the fantastic care he received.
Donald’s funeral service will be private.
