Obituary

Beloved Sister and Adored “Auntie”
Lifelong Member of Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Church
Raytheon Employee

Rose Amboian of Chelmsford passed away peacefully in the comfort of the High Pointe Hospice House on Tuesday, March 9th, at the age of 87. She was the loving daughter of the late Asadour “Peter” and Tourvanda “Theresa” (Juknavorian) Amboian. She is predeceased by her loving brother, John Amboian and survived by his widow Patricia of Andover. Rose leaves her loving sister, Sandra Boroyan of Chelmsford. Rose was the adored Auntie of Michael and Patsy Amboian and their children Mike and Megan of Methuen; John and Ann Amboian and their children, Andrew, Madison and Alex of Winnetka, IL; Leslie and her husband John Royce, and her children, Mitchell and Lucas Takessian of Manchester, NH. Lisa “Serene” Knell of Tyngsboro and her son Gabriel and his wife Catherine of Exeter, NH, Kimberly Boroyan and her husband, John Struble and their son, Max of Windham, NH, and Carrie Boroyan and her husband Ronald Weed Roy of Westford. The center of Rose’s life was her family whom she loved with all of her very warm heart. Everyone who met her, loved “Auntie Rose”. She will live on in our hearts forever.

Rose also had another love, her priest and church family. She was a devoted life-long member of Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Church of Chelmsford. Rose started as a member of the choir at a very young age and transitioned to becoming the organist for 17 years. Rose served on many committees over the years and was especially fond of the Women’s Guild where she served on the executive board. Rose wore many hats, whether it was selling tickets at the annual picnic or bazaar, serving as a secretary on various committees, or event planning, she is best remembered as a most successful fundraiser for her beloved church. Every time there was a milestone event she was called upon to put her charm to work. While being recognized as “Woman of the Year” of the Women’s Guild, she was pronounced as a successful fundraiser because no one can say “No” to Rose!

Rose was educated in Lowell Schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School class of 1951. She graduated from Lowell Commercial College and also attended John Robert Powers of Boston later in life. After graduating, Rose was employed as a Secretary at Lawrence Manufacturing Company in Lowell for approximately 5 years. For the next 38 years, Rose was an Executive Assistant at Raytheon in the Research and Development Division at the Bedford location. During her employment, Rose was the recipient of many awards for her true dedication to the company.

Visitation will take place on Friday, March 12th from 10:30-11:30am at Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Church located at 180 Old Westford Road in Chelmsford.
