Obituary

Maureen A. Dixon, of Medford, formerly of Malden, March 5th. Beloved daughter of the late Allan and Patricia (Donovan) Dixon. Dear sister of Michael Dixon and his wife Marie of Medford, Patricia Dixon of Medford, and Kathleen Cotter and her husband John of Melrose. Dear niece of John Donovan of North Andover. Loving aunt of Caroline, Molly, Michael, and Liam. Maureen is also survived by 6 great nieces and nephews, as well as many dear friends.
Maureen was raised and educated in Malden, graduating from Cheverus High School, Class of 1970. She received her BS from Boston College in 1974 and obtained her MBA from Suffolk University. Throughout her career, Maureen worked as a human resource professional, retiring from National Amusements as Assistant VP of HR. Most recently, Maureen enjoyed working at Talbots where she made many friends with colleagues and customers.
Diagnosed at a young age with Type I Diabetes, Maureen was very active at the Joslin Diabetes Center, serving as a member of the Patient Care Advisory Group, as well as participating in medical research studies in the hope of finding a cure.
Maureen’s two loves were travel and cooking. She enjoyed many trips with family and friends to Europe and to the Caribbean. Maureen was also an adventurous cook who loved to try new recipes and a variety of cuisines. An accomplished baker, her creations will be missed at all future family gatherings.
Maureen was loved by her family and her wide circle of friends.
Relatives & friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Saturday, March 13th from 9-11 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford at 11:30 AM. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Maureen’s memory may be made to the
