Obituary

Josephine Mary (Santagati) Ensko of Roslindale, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2021 at the age of 92.
Josephine was born in Boston, MA on February 23, 1929 to the late Sebastian and Rose (Sprizza) Santagati. Josephine was educated in the Boston Public School system. Upon graduating from Roxbury Memorial High School in 1947, Josephine began secretarial work for many years in various insurance agencies. After her marriage to John (Sonny) Ensko in 1954, Josephine settled in Jamaica Plain to raise her family. She later returned to work as a Secretary for the Boys and Girls Club in West Roxbury. Josephine loved a good card game with her friends as well as Bingo on Thursday evenings. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her loving family.
She was the beloved wife of the late John Ensko, Sr. Devoted mother of John Ensko, Jr., and his wife Therese, Thomas Ensko and his wife Judith, Steven Ensko and his wife Linda, and Karen Blodgett and her husband Daniel. Loving grandmother of John III, Hayley, Zachary & (Alexis), Jeremy & (Rachel), Nicholas & (Jenna), Timothy, Daniel, Kevin, Kiley and great-grandmother of Maxwell, Sebastian, Savannah, Liliana, Teagen, and Warren. She was the sister of the late Carmela (Millie) McLaughlin, Connie Beaulieu, Rose Gagnon, Eleanor MacLean, John Santagati, and Anthony Santagati. Josephine was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. She also adored her beloved golden retriever Teddy.
A visitation will be held at the Joseph Russo Funeral Home, 814 American Legion Highway, Roslindale on Thursday, March 11 from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint John Chrysostom Church 4750 Washington Street, West Roxbury at 11:00 a.m. Due to the current Covid 19 restrictions, only 60 guests are allowed in the church at a time. Burial will take place at Mount Benedict Cemetery. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society; or to the
St. Jude Childrens' Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105

Due to the Current Covid 19 restrictions only 60 guests are allowed in the church at a time.
Burial will take place at Mount Benedict Cemetery.

All visitors must wear a MASK in the funeral home and on the funeral home property.
All visitors will then follow SAFE DISTANCING
All visitors may pause at Casket/Urn and then EXIT the Funeral Home.
All visitors when returning to their cars will please exit the property to allow others to enter.
All visitors will be able to greet family members from a safe distance but not able to touch.
