Sylvia Ann (Webber) Penta, age 88, passed away on Thursday, March 4th, in Tewksbury. Born and raised in Braintree, she was the daughter of the late Wesley Winford and Stella Viola (Ericson) Webber. Sylvia was employed for many years in the insurance industry as an underwriter. She lived in East Boston before settling in Medford where she lived for four decades before relocating to Tewksbury following the death of her husband Robert in 2015. Sylvia loved to travel and spend time with her family, especially at their house on Cape Cod.
Sylvia was the beloved wife of the late Robert L. Penta, and the devoted mother of Kenneth Penta and his partner David Shorey of Melrose, Bruce Penta and his wife Michelle of Topsfield, and Beverly Penta of Tewksbury. She was the loving grandmother of Meredith, Elizabeth, Alexandria and Sophia, and the loving great grandmother of Isabella. Sylvia was the dear sister of the late Judy and Alvan, and is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in Sylvia’s name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
