Obituary

BELCHERTOWN – Barbara R. (Picard) Rondeau, 80, of Belchertown, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, February 28, 2021. She passed into Eternal Life at CareOne at Northampton surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Holyoke on November 5, 1940, the beloved daughter of the late Rosario and Mildred E. (Stone) Picard. She was raised in Holyoke, graduated from the former Precious Blood High School in Holyoke and later lived in Granby and South Hadley for many years. She moved to Belchertown in 2012 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was employed as a cook for the Dining Services at Mount Holyoke College for many years and retired in 2005. She was a former communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Granby. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She leaves her dear brother, Phillip R. “Pete” Picard of Chicopee; her three loving children, Michael P. Rondeau and his wife, Maria, of Richmond, VA, Patricia M. Archambault and her husband, Ryan, of Montague and Kevin A. Rondeau and his wife, Yvonne, of Belchertown; her 11 cherished grandchildren, Bronson Rondeau, Shane Thompson and his fiancée, Laura, Mia Rondeau, Shannon Bassett and her husband, Jason, Tylar Archambault and her partner, Corey, Jake Archambault and his partner, Kirsten, Felicia Ducharme, Samantha Ducharme and her partner, David Rafferty, Michael Ducharme and his fiancée, Hadiya Sanders, and Madelaine and Karyna Rondeau; her ten cherished great-grandchildren, Harley Archambault, Addlyn Bassett, Brayden Archambault, Julianna and Jorden Roberts, Savannah, Aaliyah and Kayden Rafferty and Amara and Dameon Ducharme; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her former husband, Gerald J. Rondeau who was Called Home on March 22, 2002. Her family will receive friends on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home. Her Burial will follow the Service at Precious Blood Cemetery, 65-73 Willimansett Street, South Hadley, MA 01075. Please note that masks are required, social distancing must be observed and funeral home and cemetery attendance are limited due to state regulations.
