Obituary

SHREWSBURY____Rose Mary (Dzicek) Reagan, 92, of Shrewsbury, died peacefully at home on Saturday February 27, 2021 with her children by her side. Her husband, Francis Reagan died in 1991.

She leaves a daughter, Kathleen Reagan Michael, three sons, John Reagan, Gary Kosciusko and his wife, Josephine and Francis Reagan, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a sister, Helen Desimone, a brother, Chester Dzicek and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Michael Reagan and a sister Wladyslawa “Lottie” Moninski. Rose was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Ignacy and Anna (Romat) Dzicek and has resided in Shrewsbury for 40 years.

Mrs. Reagan was a telephone operator many years ago for the New England Telephone Co. She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church.

Rose was a graduate of St. Mary's Schools and took much pride in her Polish heritage. She maintained memberships in the P.N.I., P.N.A., and White Eagle Clubs of Worc. In her youth she played the fife in the P.N.A. Drum Corps. A lover of music, she was also gifted with a warm, natural singing voice and was fortunate to share that gift briefly on the radio when in her early 20's, both in Worcester and New York. Her children often remember her singing around the house at the Vernon Hill 3 decker on Euclid Ave.

An intense love for animals, especially cats, emanated from her sensitive nature. Many of them shared her household over the years.

When her daughter was in the Army and stationed in Germany, Rose had the opportunity to visit several European countries, most notably her beloved Poland.

And with her children at her side, one of her final utterances shall be held dear by them forever, "Love you to the end," a phrase she is now saying to Ignacy, Anna, Michael, and Danny.
