BROOKFIELD___ Carole A. (Granger) Gamble, 79, died peacefully on Saturday morning, February 27, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her son, Steven J. Galkowski; her daughter, Nancy K. (Galkowski) Hennessy, both of Brookfield; two sisters, Nancy M. Dion of Worcester, and Mary D. Laramee and her husband Paul of Auburn; a brother, Thomas J. Granger and his companion Connie Frey of Coventry, RI; as well as many nieces and nephews, and her beloved godchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Maborn E. Gamble and her brother, Arthur R. Granger.
She was born in Shrewsbury, daughter of the late George R. and Katherine M. (Michalak) Granger. She attended Commerce High School, as well as the Elizabeth Ollis School of Hairdressing. She worked for many years as a hairdresser before getting married and starting a family. She was a well-known baker, cake decorator and cook. Some of her most popular goodies included her Italian cookies, potato salad, hermits, and her blue ribbon apple pie. She also enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and sewing. She loved to design her own quilt tops and enjoyed putting together the different colors and patterns of fabrics by hand.
After starting a family, she chose to stay home and raise her children. She was active in many charitable organizations and held church offices. Her faith provided her much consolation and strength throughout her life.

The funeral will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 A.M. in St. John’s Church, 40 Temple St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Current guidelines for capacity, wearing face coverings, and social distancing will be followed.
