Raymond Gomes, 85, of New Bedford died February 24, 2021 after a brief illness at home.
He was the husband of Julie (Gracia) Gomes.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late August and Julia (Monteiro) Gomes, he lived in Taunton before returning to New Bedford.
He was formerly employed by Shaw's for many years until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife; his four children, Cheryl Gomes of Georgia, and Raymond Gomes, Tammy Gomes, and Darlene Gomes, all of Florida; 2 step-sons, Christopher Estrella and John J. Estrella of New Bedford; 3 brothers, Joseph Gomes and his wife Josephine, Donald Gomes and his wife Carol and Paul Gomes and his wife Nadine, all of New Bedford; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late August Gomes, Jr., Arthur Monteiro, Louise Ramos, Catherine Texeira, Mary Spinola and David Gomes.
Due to Covid-19, a service will be held at a later date when it is safe to gather.
