Obituary

Home is where the heart is…… family makes a house a home……Those two statements could not ring any more true than to describe Patricia Surprenant. She truly was a homemaker and the center of her family.
Patricia A. Surprenant, 85, of Woonsocket died Thursday February 25, 2021 at HopeHospice Center in Providence. She was the loving wife of the late Raymond G. Surprenant. They were married on June 14, 1952 and shared over 60 years together until his passing in 2013.
Born in Albion she was daughter of the late Mary Richard. She was raised in Albion and was a resident of Woonsocket for most of her life. She was employed at Peterson Puritan Corporation and later worked at AT Cross before retiring.
Patricia was a longtime member of Holy Family Parish.
Patricia was an avid fan of baseball and wrestling and was a huge fan of Tom Brady. She loved to play games with her family and was at the center of any and all activities that involved family.
Patricia was an outgoing person. She loved to “tell it like it is”. She was very generous with her time, talents and yes her opinions.
Patricia will be remembered as a devoted mother who cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother.
Patricia is survived by a son Rene Surprenant and his wife Judith of Florida, and four daughters Paulette DeDentro and her husband George of North Smithfield, Claudette Simmons and her husband John of Riverside, Annette Beauchamp and her husband Greg and Suzette Lebrun and her husband Alan all of Woonsocket. She was the sister of Paul and Ronald Levesque, Tony Desrosiers, Irene Marcotte and the late Albert and Roland Levesque and Rachel Desrosiers. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Her funeral will be Wednesday at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Family Church, South Main St. Woonsocket. Burial will be private at a later date. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4-7 pm.
