Obituary

Laurent "Larry" Boucher, 90, of Hooksett, NH died March 12, 2006 at a local healthcare facility after a period of declining health.

He was born in Manchester, NH on August 23, 1915, the son of Odilon and Mary Louise (Provencher) Boucher.

He was educated in the local school system and served in the US Army during WWII.

Prior to retirement, he had been the owner/operator of the Pic N' Save Market in Hooksett for 35 years. He was a member of the American Legion and a founder of the Knights of Columbus Council 4961 and a 4th Degree. He had served in the NH House of Representatives for over 20 years and also served as the Merrimack County Commissioner and Treasurer.

Mr. Boucher had served on the Board of Directors of Suncook Bank and was a member of the Legion of 1000 Men of the Monastery of the Precious Blood.

He was a longtime communicant of St. Catherine Church.

Members of his family include his wife of nearly 67 years, Jeanne (Landry) Boucher of Hooksett; three sons, Andrew Boucher of Goffstown, Gerald Boucher of Hooksett, and Leo Boucher of Hooksett; five grandchildren; many nephews and nieces.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Catherine Church on March 24, 2006. Burial with full military honors was in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
