Robert (Bob) Francis Farrell, Sr., 83, died at Care One Newton on February 24, 2021. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 blissful years, Joan (Stryker) Farrell. He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Robert Farrell, Jr. and his late daughter, Kimberly Williams.
"Papa" meant the world to his granddaughter, Halle Farrell, and his grandsons, Josh and Liam Williams.
Bob is also survived by his sister Jackie Donahue and many loving nieces and nephews and a Sister-in-law, Claire Farrell. He was also predeceased by his parents, Frank and Anne Farrell as well as his brothers, Billy & John Farrell.
Robert was born and raised in Somerville, MA, until he later moved to Medford, MA where he started his family.
He worked many years for Hood Milk Company and drove the student shuttle for the MIT campus from which he retired from in 2000. He was heavily involved in the Medford Youth Hockey Program and loved spending time with kids, especially his three grandchildren.
One of the grandchildren's favorite memories with their Papa was their annual family vacation to Loon Mountain, New Hampshire. They were accompanied by some of their closest friends and family, to which Bob held close to his heart.
Bob loved going out for ice-cream, enjoying a nice dinner with his wife and friends, watching the Red Sox and Patriots, taking the family dog, Jakey, for walks, and sunny days out on the deck. His most favorite pastime was spending his time with his friends and family. He will always be remembered for his contagious smile which could light up a room.
