Obituary

Meghan K. Foley, 24 of Derry, NH, died Sunday, March 19, 2006 peacefully in her sleep at home. Meghan was born at home in Derry on November 21, 1981, a daughter of John “Jack” C. Foley and the late Judith A. (Wilcox) Foley. She was a lifelong resident of Derry. Meghan was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy, Class of 2001 and had attended Dean College in Franklin, MA. She was a teacher at the World of Discovery in Londonderry, NH. While attending Pinkerton she played lacrosse and was a cheerleader and recently had taken up kickboxing. Meghan was very proud of her Irish heritage. She enjoyed Irish music, Boston, the New England Patriots, animals, her dogs and had a love of horses and equine activities that was passed on from her parents. She had been a member of The Rockingham Pony Club since childhood. She had a great deal of pride in her family. Meghan began cooking and taking care of the house, taking over when her mother became ill. She also helped in caring for her mother. She developed a very strong and courageous personality following her mother’s death. She was spiritual and had a deep relationship with the Island Pond Baptist Church. Friends and family were very important to her and she embraced everyone whole-heartedly and cherished each and every relationship.

She is survived by her father, John "Jack" C. Foley of Derry, five brothers, David DeVits and his wife Tina of New Ipswich, NH, Matthew DeVits and his wife Janet of Sandown, NH, Scott Foley of Manchester, NH, John C. Foley, Jr. and his wife Karen of Groveland, MA, James M. Foley and his wife Staci of Keene, NH, a sister, Heidi Foley-Bernard of Merrimack, NH, many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Judith A. Foley, her brother, Sean M. Foley, her nephew, Zachary DeVits and her best friend, Tara Robertson, all in 2005.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 23rd from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8pm in the Island Pond Baptist Church, 26 N. Salem Rd., Hampstead, NH. Funeral services will be held on Friday, at 12:00pm in the church. The burial will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Island Pond Baptist Church Benevolent Fund, 26 N. Salem Rd., Hampstead, NH 03841.
