Obituary

Bridgewater- Shirley M. (Douglas) Bellevue, 80, of Bridgewater, formerly of Lakeville, died Saturday, march 18, 2006, at home after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Thomas H. Bellevue. She grew up in Dorchester where she attended schools.

Born Dec. 6, 1925, in Medford, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Marla (Maitland) Douglas.

Mrs. Bellevue was a former real estate agent for Jack Conway in West Bridgewater and had also worked for the West Bridgewater schools as a secretary.

She had also worked for H.P. Hood Co.

Mrs. Bellevue had been a resident of Bridgewater for the past 30 years, coming from Lakeville, where she lived for 16 years.

She enjoyed reading, watching TV and spendng time with her family.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas W. Bellevue and his wife Deborah of West Bridgewater and Joseph J. Bellevue and his wife Cynthia of Bridgewater; her brother and sister, William Armstrong of N.C., and Marlene Adams of Florida; her grandchildren, Brad, Tracy, Amy, Keith and Maria; her great-grandchildren, Noah, Micah, Madison, Mason and Mackenzie. She was the mother of the late Steven Bellevue and sister to the late David Armstrong.

Her funeral service will be held Wednesday at 12 pm in Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater. Burial will be in the Mass National Cemetery Wednesday at 2 pm.

Visiting hours are Wednesday 10 am to 12 noon.
