SOMERSET – Frances H. (Velozo) Provost, age 79, of Somerset passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021 at St. Anne’s Hospital. Born on March 4, 1941 in Fall River, Frances was the beloved wife of Arthur L. Provost Jr. and the daughter of the late Manuel and Frances C. (Cordeiro) Velozo.
Prior to retiring, Frances worked as a sewing machine operator in the Fall River Garment Mills. She had been an avid bowler, bowling in both Ten-Pin and Duck-Pin Leagues. She also loved to go dancing and trying her luck at the local casinos. Most of all, Frances was a lifelong caregiver to many.
In addition to her beloved husband Arthur, Frances is survived by her sisters Mary Cabral and Emilia Velozo both of Somerset; her sister-in-law: Dolores Veloza of Fall River; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Frances was the sister of the late Manuel & Edwin Velozo, Charles Veloza, Antone Velozo, and Henry Veloza.
Frances’ funeral will take place from the Manual Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Thursday, March 4th here for family at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass for all to attend in St. John of God Church, Brayton Ave., Somerset at 10:00 A.M.
