Jean E. (Oates) Ryan, 84, of Langworthy Ave., Lord’s Point, Stonington, passed away Monday at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Ryan was born in Springfield, MA on December 31, 1921 the daughter of William and Mary (Cavanaugh) Oates. Raised in Thompsonville (Enfield), she attended local schools and received her Masters Degree from St. Joseph’s College.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a teacher in the E. Hartford School System. Previously, she was employed at Bradley Field and Hamilton-Standard.
She was married for 57 years to the late Edward J. Ryan, whom she met during kindergarten. Together they retired to Lord’s Point in the 1970’s.
Mrs. Ryan is survived by her daughters, Patricia Lanzetti of Niantic and Pamela Chipman of Pawcatuck; two granddaughters, Sarah Coe and Melissa Chipman.
