Obituary

Vincent Joseph Ciano, age 87, of Medford passed away on Tuesday, February 23rd. Born and raised in Somerville, he was the son of the late Cosmo and Alta (Cicerano) Ciano, and the beloved husband of the late Shirley (Atkinson). Vincent worked for many years at Blue Cross Blue Shield as a Social Director, and lived in Medford for over 55 years. He had a generous heart and helped everyone. Vincent’s house was always open to all. He liked going to the casino, and worked hard, usually 2 or 3 jobs at a time, including over 40 years at Boston Garden. Those who knew Vincent will always remember his awesome sense of humor.

Vincent was the loving companion of Eileen Bruno, and the devoted father of Vincent J. Ciano, Jr. and his late wife Janice, Cheryl Douglas and her significant other Raymond Collins, Donna Ellard and her husband Charles, David Ciano, and Denise Ciano and her significant other Jack Fernandes. He was the loving grandfather of Michael Ciano, Gina Sinacola, Jennifer Dunne, Charles, Adam, Brandon and Karissa Ellard, Jessica, Dylan and Julia Fernandes, and the late Mark Ciano, Alan Douglas and Christy Ann Douglas. Vincent is survived by 12 loving great grandchildren, and was the dear brother of Mary Genovese and her husband Peter, and the late Jackie Ciano, Tina Capone, and Charles Ciano, Sr. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Tuesday, March 2nd at 12:30 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with family from 10 AM through 12:30 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Social distancing protocols will be observed throughout the services.
