BERKLEY – Ruth Marie LaFleur, age 79, passed away peacefully at home on February 23, 2021 surrounded by her loving and caring family. She was the beloved wife of the late William LaFleur. Born in Warren, RI, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Benevides) Carvalho. Ruth was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, who loved to go to the casino, play bingo, go camping and most of all spend time with her children, grandchildren including great-grandchildren. For many years Ruth worked for Truesdale Hospital and the Fall River Jewish Home. It suited her servant heart. She was kind to everyone and if you knew Ruth you were lucky enough to know what a real genuine, loving person she was. She will be missed every day.
Ruth was wonderfully devoted to her 10 children Kenneth Oliveira, Jeffrey Oliveira, Pamela Holt (spouse Stephen), Sherry Pare, Kelly DeVarie, Christine LaFleur, Keri LaFleur, Thomas LaFleur (spouse Marlyn), Brittany Gadoury (spouse Zachary), including the late Glenn Oliveira. She was also survived by 23 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends, who will sadly miss her. Ruth was the last survived of 18th siblings.
