Elvira O. Gentile, a longtime resident of Woburn passed away peacefully, Monday, February 22, 2021, at the Woburn Nursing Center. She was 92. Elvira was the beloved wife of the late Francis E. Gentile. Born in Chelsea she was the daughter of the late Pelino and Esther (Reppucci) Clementi.
Elvira was raised and educated in Revere where she was a proud graduate of Revere High School. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Elvira loved to cook for and entertain family and friends. She was happiest when she was surrounded by family and especially her grandchildren who were the light of her life. Elvira was also a woman who took great comfort in her strong Catholic faith. Over the years she enjoyed traveling, cruises, trips to Atlantic City and every summer spending quality family time vacationing on Cape Cod. She will be greatly missed.
Elvira is survived by her children, Gina Pasakarnis and her husband Tom of Woburn, Susan D'Amore and her husband David of Nashua, NH, and Frank Gentile and his wife Mary of North Andover. She was the loving grandmother of Thomas Pasakarnis and his wife Danielle, Albert Pasakarnis, Courtney Gentile, Rachael Gentile, Frankie Gentile, Nicole D'Amore and her husband Luis Betancur, and Jessica D'Amore. She is also survived by her great grandchild Emilio. Sister of Lorraine Spears and her husband Jim of North Reading, the late Josephine Ficociello and her late husband Cesar and is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral Mass that will be celebrated, Monday, March 1st, in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd. Woburn, at 11 a.m. Family and friends may also visit with the family at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant, Woburn, prior to the Mass from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Winchester. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Elvira's memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
