Marie C. (Olshawa) Tokan, 81, of East Bridgewater, died Thursday, March 16, 2006, at her home after a short illness. She was the wife of Raymond Tokan.
Marie was born & raised in Brighton, the daughter of the late Mary T. (Lane) & Anthony J. Olshaw, and graduated from Brighton High School.
She worked for a number of years as a telephone operator. During this time she met her future husband, Raymond, who was serving in the US Navy during World War II.
She later worked for the School Lunch Program in the East Bridgewater Public School System, where she enjoyed the many friendships that grew from having worked in the Intermediate school, which is now senior housing.
Marie enjoyed cooking, camping, cruises, traveling with her husband, which included over 40 years of family vacations in Maine, along with many trips to Walt Disney World.
She very much enjoyed collecting various disney décor.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Sandra-Luddy-Ross of E. Bridgewater, Susan Rees of Brockton, & Nancy Hacker of East Bridgewater; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was also the sister of Robert J., Frederick P. Olshaw.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 23, 2006 at Central Cemetery in East Bridgewater at 10 am. Arrangements by the Wales-Prophett Funeral Home, East Bridgewater,
