East Bridgewater - Carolyn, S. (Crompton) Post, 61, of East Bridgewater, died Sunday, March 19, 2006, at her home after a lengthy battle with Ovarian Cancer. She was the beloved wife of Howard V. Post.
Born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, she was raised in Reading and graduated from Reading High School, Class of 1962.
She held a bachelor’s degree from Boston University & a master’s degree from Lesley College.
Mrs. Post devoted her entire career to the children of East Bridgewater, teaching physical education at the Central School for 33 years, retiring in 2001.
She was recognized by her peers in 1994, when she was selected the Outstanding Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year in Massachusetts.
Mrs. Post also enjoyed art, reading, traveling, going to yard sales & gardening.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her parents, Earle W. & Shirley J. (Bower) Crompton of Largo, Fla.; her stepchildren, Michelle Gentile of Spanish fork, Utah, Marc Post of Gray, Maine, & Melanie Carabin of Goodyear, Ariz.; Also survived by 5 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday in the Union Congregational Church, 105 Pleasant St., East Bridgewater at 11 am. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours in the Wales-Prophett Funeral Home, 35 Spring St., East Bridgewater, Wednesday, 4-8 pm.
