TEWKSBURY - Mrs. June A. (McDonnell) Lloyd, age 85, died peacefully on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Wood Haven Memory Care in Tewksbury, after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was the beloved wife of Warren H. Lloyd, who died in December 2000.
June was born in Creighton, Ontario, Canada, on June 21, 1935, one of six children of the late John Alexander and Mary Alice (Lyons) McDonnell. While serving with the Canadian Royal Air Force she met her future husband Warren, who was serving in the U.S. Air Force. They were married in Vermont, and they traveled around the world during his service with the U.S. Air Force. After his retirement in the 1970's, her and her family settled in Tewksbury.
She worked for Wang Laboratories, and rose to the position of manufacturing supervisor, working at the North Street facility, and retiring from “Wang Towers” in Lowell.
She leaves four children, Deborah and Wayne Young of Naples, FL, Diana and Larry Coppinger of Lynn, MA, Ronald and Sue-Ellen (Robinson) Lloyd of Pembroke, NH, James and Kelley (Lyons) Lloyd of Derry, NH; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; she is survived by her sister, Mary of Canada; and was predeceased by her siblings, Joseph, Margaret, John, and Richard.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Service to be held on Saturday, February 27 at 1 P.M. at the Tewksbury Cemetery on East Street. Arrangements by the Tewksbury Funeral Home,1 Dewey St., Tewksbury, MA 978-851-2061. At her request there are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association of MA and NH, 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Belmont, MA 02452, will be appreciated.
