Obituary

Conrad P. Caligaris, 87, of Franklin, died Friday, February 19, 2021 at Benchmark Senior Living at Forge Hill in Franklin. He was the beloved husband of Barbara K. (Brown) Caligaris who died in 2018.

Born in Leominster on August 25, 1933 to Italian immigrants, Joseph and Josephine (Bello) Caligaris, his given name was Corrado.

Mr. Caligaris grew up in Leominster and resided in Holliston for many years until moving to Franklin about 15 years ago.

Mr. Caligaris earned a PhD from Brown University and was an economics professor at Northeastern University for 30 years. He had also previously taught at Boston College and University on Maine, Orono.

Mr. Caligaris enjoyed spending time at the Franklin Senior Center where he loved to play cards, including cribbage and also doing puzzles.

He is survived by four sons, Joseph Caligaris and his wife Karen of Cincinnati, OH, David Caligaris and his wife Donna of Wellesley, John Caligaris and his wife Gail of Holyoke and Mark Caligaris and his wife Beverly of Greenville, SC, one daughter Julie Garilli and her husband John of Franklin and thirteen grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his twin-brother Candido Caligaris, his sister Levia Fratturelli and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A private burial will take place later in the spring at Lake Grove Cemetery in Holliston.
