Obituary

Stephen Goode Pennington passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 19, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reginald Goode “Bill” Pennington and Helen Carter Pennington and his son, Joshua C. Pennington.

Steve is survived by his wife, Martha Britton Pennington; son, Jacob S. Pennington of Chase City; son, Christopher R. Pennington (Angela) of Columbus, MT; brother, Robert B. “Pete” Pennington (Karen) of Keysville, VA; brother-in-law, Charles H. Britton (Barbie) of Edenton, NC; niece, Ashley G. Pennington of Clarksville, VA; nephews, Adam Britton (Tonia) and Randy Britton (Rhonda) of Edenton, NC. He leaves behind many friends, cousins, and other family members to cherish his memory.

Most of his working life was spent working in the family business, Mecklenburg Farm Supply in Chase City. He enjoyed serving the local customers and those in the surrounding counties where he made lots of life long friends.

His great love and devotion to his family and friends will always be remembered along with his kindness and gentle spirit.

During his extended illness, he came in contact with many healthcare workers. The family would like to express our thanks to each and every one of you that cared, treated, comforted, and showed him kindness.

A private service will be held for immediate family at a later date.
